SADLY, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED

This was not an easy decision.  Never a revenue generating event from the beginning, rising costs had already taken their toll as the Branch stayed with the original cost.  However, that was still too much for many, and registrations were  dangerously low.

The Branch decided to apply its deposits to the costs of the dinner to lower prices and attract a level of registration that would make the dinner worthy of being seen as a "Gala" level event

The price was significantly reduced to less than 1/3 of the cost of the dinner.  Available seats were limited to within that amount, but would have been more than enough for the desired participation.

The result was phenomenal, and the resulting surge in registrations demonstrated a strong excitement and enthusiasm for the event.  Thank you to all who connected with us!  Unfortunately, it fell slightly short of the minimum needed for a "gala" level event as we arrived at the deadline for banquet orders and final arrangements to be completed.
With much angst, it was decided that we did not have enough to proceed.

The Branch will shift its focus to support of the free BBQ event being organized by RCSCC FALKLAND on the evening of Fri 2 June.  It promises to be an excellent opportunity for ex-FALKLANDS and Branch members of all years to gather.  Memorabilia and swag for the Centennial advertised in the FALKLAND survey will be available.  And the Branch hopes to fill the time capsule it has for the benefit of our future generations in fifty years!
Please try to join us for that event!

Of course, the Open House on Saturday as the Cadets prepare for their centennial ACR, and the Centennial ACR itself on the Sunday will continue as planned.

Full refunds will be made to those that had paid for the their Gala Dinner registrations. The Treasurer will be corresponding with each of them shortly

Any donations in support the cadets would be most gratefully appreciated. The easiest way to do that - and get an immediate tax receipt - is through the Branch Fundraising site at:
www.donate.micharity.com/navy-league-of-canada-ontario-division-ottawa-branch/754503895/donate?campaign=1
Specify CENTENNIAL as either a dedication or a remark in the text box.
